What are the most popular images and videos on microstock? You can find them in the lists on nearly each microstock agency (on some agencies you have to register to display the list). Sometimes they offer also overview of most searched keywords, which is very useful for the contributors.

As a webdesigner I need quite often some photo or illustration for my graphic designs, or as a part of the website content. At the beginning of my career I used some free stock photo sites, but after some time I realized, that the searching of the right photo took me quite a long time and the result is poor. So I started to use microstock – you can get there photo from few cents and the microstock agencies have really big portfolios (some of them have more than 6 millions items!) and the quality is excellent.

Fotolia accepts vectors in EPS and AI formats now

In the past, Fotolia accepted vector illustrations only in SVG format (most of the other microstock agencies require EPS format – version Illustrator 8). But now you can sell your vectors in EPS or AI formats (version Illustrator 10, but 8 should be good enough too), that is a big improvement! The pricing system is also changed – the price depends on the complexity of the artwork.

In the middle of February Fotolia will start offering footage in various digital formats including HD video, for as little as £10. Contributors can submit their footage right now.
